At first, i really dont know what is the genre of this book. I just saw how massive the praised n critics about it. Cz i want to re-ignite book lovers soul inside of me, so yeah...
Turns out the second i finishing the last page of the book. I just feels that, this is should called chicklit, with a huge detail of asian culture, singapore-malaysian culture to be exact. Not that i hate chicklit, i loooove them. If you start to feeling crazy about your work, chicklit is life saving you know LOL
But i guess i set the wrong expectation for this book. When i read the title, i thought i will be find adventure, and money politics, and family revenge and so om. Well, sort of close to that.
Instead, we will see (aka read) about true love, life passion,friendship, spoiled rich kids, the otoriter grandma, marriage contract of the rich and how to be your self.
Too many character introduced and i must back into family tree in prolog to make sure who is who. But after hundred page, i start to remember.
Its nice and good ending by the way. Hey, i didn't say that i dont like this book right? :P
The overwhelming character is needed to build the story development. And the story flow is so good 👌 until sometimes i forget about suspicious thing then bang! The plot twist. Ahaha.
Astrid and Nick Young somehow remind me about Inez and Diaz Hanafiah, the lovable chara from Sitta Karina, our Indonesia author. Even their spirit not to received the inhirits of their family name and richness!
Oh, my mom's youth (my real mom ofc) also conjoined with this type of socialita in our hometown here. My mom is not crazy rich asian ofc :))) she is just so freaky lucky that her best friend is one of them. So yeah, because my mom already told me everything about her wild youth, everything in this book is not surprise me anymore. Maybe a lil bit.
